2016 NBA Draft Sleeper
1. Caris LeVert: At about 6'6 with out shoes and with a 6'10 wingspan he has than elite size for a point guard or shooting guard. In college he proved that he was more than capable of guarding the 1-3, and playing those positions on offence. Like most other players coming out of college his 191 pound frame is a work in progress but it should fill out fairly quickly. He has the potential to be an elite combo guard at the next level, he averaged 16.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists at Michigan, which shows that he is efficient offensively which will translate well to the pros. At almost 22 years old he will come into any team and he will be ready to contribute right away, unlike most other higher draft picks who are picked due to their possible potential. Shooting over 50% from the field he doesn't force any shots which contributes to his low turnover average at just 1.6 per game and great assist to t/o ratio at around 3:1, one of the lowest amongst the other point guards in the draft. His length also allows him to shoot over shorter defenders and he showed that shooting over 40% from three in his last year of college. LeVert is currently projected as a mid second round draft pick mainly due to his age, but should easily be a first round pick just because of his ample production on both ends of the floor and his unique ball skills. Most 2nd round picks end up playing at least 1 season in the d-league, but for LeVert that would be a waste of time, as he could be a tremendous role player straight out of the draft. Levert possesses elite athleticism at his size and if he work hard he could have allstar potential.
